Why Compass Rose

Designed for the Way You Actually Think About Money

Grounded in Long-Term Thinking

Every module is structured around decisions that take months or years to play out — not the kind that require a screen refresh every few minutes.

Built Around Hong Kong Context

The HKD peg, local multi-currency accounts, regional remittance patterns, and cross-border retirement realities are all woven into the curriculum.

Written for Mature Investors

The programmes assume participants have financial experience and are not looking for introductory personal finance — they want to think more clearly about a specific dimension of their wealth.

No Speculation, No Pressure

Compass Rose does not sell currency products, manage funds, or advise on individual trades. The programmes are educational — so the content is never coloured by a commercial motive.

Structured, Not Overwhelming

Materials progress in small, logical steps. Each week builds on the last without assuming participants remember everything from prior sessions. Readings are concise; examples are historical.

Small Groups, Open Questions

Cohort sizes are kept deliberately small. Participants are encouraged to bring their own questions — about their own situations — so discussion stays grounded in real concerns.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Who are these programmes for?
They are written for Hong Kong residents in their 40s and 50s who hold — or are seriously considering holding — savings, investments, or property in more than one currency. Participants typically have some experience with financial products and are not looking for an introduction to personal finance, but want to think more carefully about the currency dimension of their wealth.
How are the sessions delivered?
Programmes run in small cohort groups, with weekly sessions held at our Sheung Wan premises. Written materials, worked examples, and reference tables are provided for each week. Sessions are discussion-based, not lecture-only, and participants are encouraged to raise questions from their own situations.
Do I need a financial background to join?
A prior background in finance is not required, but the programmes assume participants are comfortable reading a bank statement and have some familiarity with savings accounts, investment funds, or insurance products. If you are uncertain, contact us and we can help assess which starting point makes sense.
Does Compass Rose provide investment advice?
No. Compass Rose provides structured educational programmes. We do not manage funds, advise on individual investments, sell currency products, or hold any financial advisory licence. All content is educational in nature. Participants should consult a licensed financial adviser for decisions specific to their personal situation.
What is the refund or cancellation policy?
Full details are provided at enrolment. In general, cancellations made more than 14 days before the cohort start date receive a full refund. Cancellations within 14 days of the start date may receive a credit toward a future cohort. Please review our Terms & Conditions or contact us directly with any questions.
When does the next cohort start?
Cohorts run on a rolling schedule throughout the year, with new groups typically forming each quarter. Contact us to find out about the next available intake for a specific programme. Cohort sizes are limited, so we recommend enquiring early if you have a particular start date in mind.
